Well, it's been a while, hasn't it?
Hey guys, Squid here. So, first thing's first, I dearly apologize for the lack of posts and activity on the site recently. Not much has really occurred since NickSplat celebrated the anniversary of SNICK back in August. Other than the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie trailer coming out, the community has been surprisingly quiet and Nickelodeon hasn't been giving us much to work with.
But, I have quite an interesting topic to share. Rather, a recent topic that less than 24 hours ago has it been brought to attention.
Now, for those of you who haven't been living under a rock the past year or so, The Loud House is a cartoon on Nickelodeon that's grown quite popular since its premiere in 2016. So much so, that it's even spawned it's own active online fanbase, with its community consisting of many hardcore, loyal fans. (As well as the 15-20% of fans that consistently create what is known as "Loudcest" ships and fan fiction, occasionally involving smut. Ew... Rule 34 has been having a fucking field day.)
So, point being, The Loud House has had quite a following since its rise in popularity, and even has a movie set to be released on February 7, 2020. But, it's possible the movie may not come out, along with The Loud House possibly being cancelled altogether. Why?
The creator of the show, Chris Savino, has allegedly been suspended from Nickelodeon due to sexual allegations against him. According to sources within the network, over a dozen women have come out with allegations of Savino making unwanted inappropriate advances on them, ranging from sexual advances to threats of blacklisting them from projects within the industry after ending consensual relationships with him.
Supposedly, the rumors date back at least a decade, and have followed him throughout many projects he's been involved in within the last 10 years.
Although Nickelodeon hasn't confirmed nor denied these claims, a Viacom representative stated the following;
Also, an artist at Nickelodeon who has worked with Savino in the past (wished to stay anonymous) stated the following;
So, it's clear that something up with Savino, but the question is, with him out of the show's crew, what's the current state of The Loud House? Well, no one knows for sure. A similar situation occurred during production of Cartoon Network's animated series, "Clarence", where the show's creator Skyler Page was fired from the network after similar sexual allegations surfaced. After that, Spencer Rothbell (one of the show's writers) took Page's spot (as well as providing the voice for Clarence, the main character) and ended up improving the show altogether. Waddya know?
So, it's possible that The Loud House will be given similar treatment with Chris Savino gone, or worst case scenario, the show will be cancelled prematurely which is very unlikely to happen.

“Viacom is committed to the safety and well-being of our employees, and to fostering a workplace free from harassment. As a matter of policy, we do not comment on specific employee matters, but we take all allegations of this nature very seriously, investigate them thoroughly and take any necessary actions as a result.”
"This took place about 4 years ago. Chris [Savino] was working with the development program at Nickelodeon. A woman close to me had a project that was being developed under his supervision. He got her personal contact information under the guise of 'helping her develop the project off hours.' He presented himself as a mentor. He then proceeded to send her unwanted text messages that were lewd and sexual in nature on more than one occasion. When she turned down his advances, her development project was let go. He is a classic case of a predatory male using his status and power over a female subordinate. As with most victims, she was worried of how speaking out against him would affect her career and no action was ever taken."
So, it's possible that The Loud House will be given similar treatment with Chris Savino gone, or worst case scenario, the show will be cancelled prematurely which is very unlikely to happen.
